All About NEAR Protocol (NEAR)
With NEAR’s novel implementation of Nightshade sharding, the platform is able to scale quickly and efficiently, allowing developers to build secure and cost-efficient decentralized apps, or dApps.
- NEAR is the native token that is used to power smart contracts, pay for transaction fees, and engage in staking activities.
- Known for its speed and efficiency, NEAR Protocol is able to process around 100,000 transactions per second, enabling low-cost transactions to execute near-instantaneously.
- Holders can use the “Rainbow Bridge” to easily convert Ethereum (ERC-20) tokens to mainnet NEAR tokens, allowing more users to participate within the NEAR ecosystem. Please note that at launch, Binance.US only supports Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20) deposits and withdrawals. Do not send ERC-20 or mainnet NEAR tokens to your Binance.US wallet.
- The NEAR maximum token supply is 1 billion. At the time of writing, NEAR has a circulating supply of approximately 616 million tokens.
