Carol MacKinlay Joins Binance.US as Chief People Officer
Binance.US today announced the appointment of Carol MacKinlay, former Chief People Officer for UserTesting, Inc., as its new Chief People Officer. As the latest addition to the executive team, Carol will lead all HR functions at Binance.US, helping the company continue to attract and retain the most innovative and customer-focused talent in the digital assets industry.

During Carol’s time with UserTesting, she focused on creating a best place to work and improving the diversity of the team, as evidenced by a 90%+ employee satisfaction rating in each year of her tenure. In addition, she strengthened the company’s overall representation to 46% female and 18% underrepresented/multiracial staff worldwide. Between 2018 and 2021, she scaled the company from 225 employees to over 850.
Prior to joining UserTesting, Carol was a senior executive for several notable public and private technology companies including Plantronics (NYSE: PLT), XERO (ASX: XERO), Synopsys (NASDAQ: SNPS), and Matterport (now NASDAQ: MTTR).
Before shifting to corporate work, Carol was a management consultant in private practice and with KPMG, specializing in strategic, financial, and executive compensation studies for public and private company Boards. She has been published in Inc. magazine, the Journal of Compensation & Benefits, and Compensation and Benefits Review.
In addition, Carol has been an active Board member of several not-for-profit organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz and San Benito counties, where she also acted as Chair for the Holiday Food Drive and was a member of the Audit committees. Carol was the Chairperson for the Monterey Bay chapter of Junior Achievement and a Board member for the broader Junior Achievement of Silicon Valley and Monterey Bay group. She has been a Board member for the Santa Cruz Business Council, Delta Charter School, and the County of Santa Cruz Workforce Investment Board.
Carol holds an M.B.A. degree from the USC Marshall School of Business, as well as a Bachelor Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering.
