Polymath is an Ethereum-based protocol that allows businesses and users to issue securities tokens.
The Polymath protocol is designed to help users create and issue tokens that are fully compliant with securities laws and regulations. At the time of writing, more than 200 tokens have been created using Polymath.
To make it easier for users to create their own tokens, Polymath launched Token Studio, a user-friendly application that allows users to reserve a ticker symbol, set preferences and rules, modify existing token settings, and more.
What Is Polymath (POLY)?
Polymath allows users to create and issue securities tokens in the form of ST-20/ERC-1400 tokens, a token standard built by Polymath developers in conjunction with legal experts, transfer agents, exchanges, and other parties.
- POLY is an ERC-20 token that serves as the Polymath network’s native token.
- Securities tokens issued via the Polymath network come in the form of ST 20/ERC 1400 tokens.
- The ERC-1400 token standard is based on the ST-20 standard previously built by Polymath, but both terms can be used interchangeably.
- To further increase compatibility with established securities token standards, Polymath introduced Polymesh in March 2021, a blockchain network expressly designed to improve the usability of security tokens.
