In her new role, Tammy will report to Binance.US Chief Risk Officer Sidney Majalya.

“At Binance.US, we recognize the enormous responsibility that comes with handling our customers’ assets, and with that responsibility comes a need to ensure our company and industry are held to the highest standards of regulatory compliance,” said Brian Shroder, CEO of Binance.US. “To that end, we are pleased to welcome to Binance.US a proven financial crimes compliance professional in Tammy, who brings over 15 years of experience building robust KYC and AML programs from the ground up in both traditional financial services and crypto. We are thrilled to have her on board as we continue to add best-in-class class talent to our leadership team and reinforce our commitment to being a compliance first organization.”

Tammy is a recognized subject matter expert in financial crimes, BSA/AML, KYC, and fintech. Prior to joining Binance.US, Tammy served as Vice President of the Financial Crime Compliance department at Societe Generale, where she designed both FinCEN and KYC regulatory frameworks and developed FCC and AML policies, procedures, and controls.

Prior to Societe Generale, Tammy was the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at Gemini, where she helped to lead the cryptocurrency exchange's compliance and risk programs, including integrating BSA/AML/OFAC regulatory requirements, KYC framework, controls framework, and transactional monitoring systems alignment to encompass legacy financial institution and digital currency regulatory requirements.

"I'm very excited to join Binance.US and work alongside Brian and Sidney to advance the company’s mission of developing a world-class compliance and risk organization. In order for the American digital asset industry to thrive, its participants must embrace regulation. I look forward to taking a proactive approach to engaging with regulators to maintain and enhance our compliance programs and ultimately do right by our customers.”

Earlier in her career, Tammy held key compliance roles at several financial institutions and consulting firms, including Crowe Horwath LLP, Royal Bank of Scotland, Brown Brothers Harriman, Standard Chartered Bank, and Citigroup, Inc.

Tammy holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. She is recognized as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
